Accident Reconstruction

One of the many specialized training areas available to officers is Accident Reconstruction. Accident Reconstruction officers are normally only called to accident scenes involving serious injury or death. They may also be called for accidents involving police vehicles.

Officers opting to receive this training undergo lengthy schooling on topics covering Physics, Trigonometry, Occupant Kinetics, Headlamp Examination, Evidence Recovery, and AutoCAD.  This training, matched with the newest laser surveying technology, allows police to document an accident scene via computer, and reproduce it later for investigative purposes.
