The Communications Section provides 24-hour dispatch coverage for the city of Dover Police Department. The City of Dover operates it's own 911 Center, and the 10 dispatchers assigned to this section receive an average of 15,000 calls for service each month. Dispatchers are responsible for answering incoming telephone calls and dispatching police units where needed. The Communications Center serves as a focal point of information and coordination between various operational units.
