The Dover Police Citizens Police Academy is an outreach program designed to forge a better understanding and relationship between today's police and the citizens who frequent or reside within the City of Dover.
Each academy session consists of 36 hours of instruction over a 12-week period. It provides for interaction between officers and the citizen participants, and gives the citizens a greater understanding of police practices and opportunity to see their tax dollars at work. It also provides the citizen with an expanded knowledge of Constitutional Law, State Law, and police procedures. The program is very popular, and each session has been filled to capacity.
