The mission of the DEA Task Force is to promote the cooperating and coordinating drug enforcement efforts with their state and local counterparts. This coordinated effort assists the DEA in leading the battle against the use and sale of illegal drugs in the United States. The Task Force concept allows the DEA to draw from the expertise of state and local law enforcement while sharing resources otherwise unavailable to these officers. The DEA Task Force allows for the increase of investigative possibilities as well as enhanced communication, forfeiture and expense sharing and exclusive focus of drug enforcement in localized areas.
