Dover is centrally located in Kent County, and is within easy driving distance to the Delaware and Maryland seashore/resort areas, and close to Washington DC/Baltimore and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. With a nighttime population of over 40,000 and a daytime population of approximately 60,000, Dover is the second largest city in the state and is geographically the largest.
Delaware is the second smallest state in the nation, was the first state to ratify the Constitution, and enjoys the distinction of being the only state in the nation east of the Mason-Dixon Line.
The Dover area is primarily residential and professional, with some light industry. Dover Air Force Base and Dover Downs International Speedway are located within the city limits. Dover is a growing community that still maintains a family environment, offering many recreational, educational, and professional opportunities.
