| Once during every quarter of the calendar year
supervisors from each Unit within the Department submit their most deserving
candidates for Officer of the Quarter. Selections for Officer of the
Quarter are then made by Staff from these recommendations submitted by
supervisors. Some of the areas considered for Officer of the Quarter include but are not limited to: lifesaving rescues, apprehension of a suspect from a crimes in progress, community involvement which has a positive impact on the community, inventive new ideas, solutions, or strategies in improving the efficiency or effect-ness of the police department and any incident where the officer goes above and beyond the call of duty.
