Parking Enforcment

The Parking Enforcement Section of the Special Enforcement Unit consists of two civilian enforcement officers whose primary duty is to conduct foot patrol in the downtown business district, and various residential neighborhoods to equitably enforce parking regulations.

The civilian parking enforcement officers have the authority to issue summonses for any parking violations that they encounter. They serve as a visible deterrent to motorists who would park their vehicles in either an unsafe manner or tie up parking spaces for an excessive period of time. These civilian officers are equipped with 2 way radios and are identified by their light blue uniform shirts and distinctive badges.

In addition to civilian enforcement officers, sworn police officers and Police Cadets may also issue summonses for violations found while on patrol.
