The Special Services Section is managed by a civilian who oversees the research, purchase, and repair of all departmental vehicles and equipment. The major duties involve coordinating fleet maintenance, radio maintenance, and inventory control. Police equipment has recently become very technical and complex, which requires the Special Services Supervisor to maintain up-to-date information on new and upcoming systems for law enforcement, and to be knowledgeable in a wide variety of police functions.
The Special Services Supervisor also works closely with the PC/LAN Technician on various projects.
The Special Services Supervisor serves under the direction of the Police Administrator and acts as the supervisor for the Evidence/Photography Section and the Building Maintenance Section.
