The Victim Services Section is responsible for rendering assistance to all victims of violent crime and serious or fatal motor vehicle accidents. The Victim Services Coordinator (a civilian employee) also aids any other victim traumatized by crime by providing referrals to various social service agencies and keeping victims informed of court procedures and trial dates.
This section provides 24-hour 7-day-a-week services. In
addition to being available if necessary for domestic violence
cases, the Victim Services Coordinator must always be available
by pager in the event that a serious crime has occurred, or if
family members must be notified of a death.
